April is the fourth month of year and is the first month of the financial year. In the first week of April prevention from blindness week takes place where all the important preventions from blindness are taught and key of healthy eyes are spread.
On 2nd April Ram Navmi is celebrated and people worship lord Ram on this day. On 6th April Mahaveer Jayanti is marked and this day is celebrated by the Jain community. All the lessons of lord Mahaveer are revived on this day. On 8th April Hanuman Jayanti is celebrated and lord Hanuman is worshiped on this day. All the temples of Lord Hanuman are decorated with lights and this festival compulsorily falls on either Tuesday or Saturday. 9th and 10th April are known for Good Friday and this day is accepted by the Christian community because their God Jesus was dead on this day. On 12th April Easter is celebrated and it is a resurrection Sunday where resurrection of Jesus from death was done. Baisakhi is celebrated on 13th April and it is a religious festival of Sikhism. It is known as the new year of Sikh community and this festival is majorly celebrated in Punjab region. Ambedkar Jayanti is marked on 14th April and Dr. BR Ambedkar is remembered on this day. On 22nd April international health day is celebrated and importance of good health is delivered to the people and need of hygienic lifestyle is discussed with the people on this day.
