This is the eighth month of the year and this is month have some patriotic vibe in this month. On the first Sunday of this month falls the friendship day where people exchange friendship bands as sign of the bond they share.
Raksha bandhan is celebrated on 4th August and this is the festival of brother and sister where sisters tie Rakhi as a sign of promise on the wrist of brother. Naag Panchmi is celebrated on 8th August where snake is worshipped and he is served with milk for good luck. 8th August is known for the world senior citizen day and special privileges are given to them. 11th August is known for the national daughter’s day and awareness programs are organized to spread the importance of the daughters and provide them equal rights to speak and educate themselves. On this day Janamashtmi is also celebrated and it is the birthday of lord Krishna.13th August is known for the organ donation day where donating the organs of a dead person is done so that they can be used for someone in need. 15th August is celebrated as the national day and Independence Day is marked on this day. India got its freedom on this day and people were able to breathe freely after a long fight of many years. 22nd August is celebrated as Ganesh Chathurti and lord Ganesha is venerated on this day. Onam is the festival of south region and it is celebrated on 31st August.
